This wonderful fountain is made of Corten steel, which gives it a spectacular, unique look. As the sparkling water from the top of the decoration falls, the Corten steel reacts with it to create a rust surface, oxidizing the surface to make it waterproof and rust-proof as well as exceptionally aesthetic. Weathered steel is quickly becoming the raw material of modern architecture, praised for its unique, modern style. You can speed up this process by rubbing the surface with salt and/or vinegar. This decoration remains beautiful also at night, when the color of the built-in LED lights changes, illuminating the gently falling water and the fountain itself.

The corten material takes approximately 3 days to begin to develop a protective layer - depending on weather conditions - progressing from the traditional silver steel to an oxidized metal color, bringing a burst of orange to complement the flowers and gardens. A special welding technique has been used to ensure constant ventilation to achieve an antique look, while built-in LED lights illuminate the decoration creating a wonderful, stunning view during the day and night. As an autonomous fountain, it is delivered with everything you need to start working immediately, without the need to buy an additional tank. Just add water, connect to the power supply and it's ready. Corten steel - Rust surface with protective layer

Corten is a type of steel that naturally weathers over time and builds an attractive rust along with a protective layer. This is a paradox because despite being rusted to some extent, the surface has protection against further corrosion. In other words, rust is allowed to develop to create a protective layer. This protective layer is produced under the influence of active elements in the steel alloy. It is constantly renewed under the influence of water and oxygen.

The rusting process

The photos above show the decoration at the beginning of the process and while the rust is forming. It will reach you with a shiny steel look, similar to other fountains made of stainless steel. If you wish, you can speed up the rusting process by using a cloth by rubbing the surface with salt and/or vinegar. However, of course the frame will still maintain its shiny appearance.
